R.R. Smith Books

Welcome bookworms one and all!

I love to read above all things! From a young age I learned the power of reading to not only to learn but to escape to places I would probably never visit in real life.

I grew up in the Southern Oregon mountains. As an adult, I have lived all over the U.S., but finally returned home to this place which is ingrained into my very being, my heart and soul. It has truly become a part of me and I feel so blessed to call it home.

I love hiking in the mountains. swimming in the lakes and rivers, and spending time with my husband of 29 years, our nine children and two grandchildren. I am a coffee snob of the worst kind which I can only attribute to my Pacific Northwestern upbringing.

As a young child, I took to reading like a duck to water and never stopped. I read voraciously throughout my childhood and into adulthood. I wrote stories from the age of six and dreamed someday of becoming two things, a mother and a writer. I succeeded as a mother, (I always was a bit of an overachiever). But now that most of my children are grown, I have turned my attention to my other aspiration, to write. I hold no degrees or awards for such things, it is simply my passion and how I spend my days.

I hope you will enjoy my stories and they will be a read worthy of your time. Grab a cup of coffee 😉 and have a look around.

It’s almost April! Do you know what that means? My book Conflicted Destiny, the 2nd book in the Precarious Entanglement Series will be out on ebook April 7th and on paperback April 21st.

In this continuation of Obscured Intent, Mina continues her work with the network until Ryder is called up for service and injured. She is faced with the most difficult decision to rescue him by committing the unthinkable or knowing he suffered and died in a camp. With Ryder and her family hanging in the balance…she makes her choice, changing her life forever.

Flora faces a dangerous man with nefarious intentions and is too paralyzed with fear to attempt escape. As the war wages on, the stakes are high and something must give or she will be torn from all she holds dear.

I can’t wait for you to read it!

Much Love,

Fellow Readers,

It is finally spring here in Oregon after a cold, dry winter with months of cloud cover. I am just about to sit and read some books up for review out in the sunshine which has been hard to find around these parts lately.

I am currently working on book three in the Precarious Entanglement Series. It has been difficult to wrap up the ending well. I have written half a dozen endings, (well the last fifteen chapters). Each time, after a day or two, I knew that it was not the correct ending. Some people describe it as their characters telling them that the story is incomplete or written wrong, but for me, it’s just a let down feeling of…nope…still not it!

But I think I have finally found it…at least I hope I have… and I only fourteen more chapters to go!

Have a beautiful day! I hope your weather is as glorious as ours, but if not, lousy weather is the perfect excuse to curl up with a good book!

Much Love,

R.R. Smith
