Welcome Friends and fellow Book Lovers! I am glad to have you here to share in my love for reading, writing and history!

I love to read above all things! From a young age I learned the power of reading to not only to learn but to escape to places I would probably never visit in real life.

I grew up in the Southern Oregon mountains. As an adult, I have lived all over the U.S., but finally returned home to this place which is ingrained into my very being, my heart and soul. It has truly become a part of me and I feel so blessed to call it home.

I love hiking in the mountains. swimming in the lakes and rivers, and spending time with my husband of 29 years, our nine children and two grandchildren. I am a coffee snob of the worst kind which I can only attribute to my Pacific Northwestern upbringing.

As a young child, I took to reading like a duck to water and never stopped. I read voraciously throughout my childhood and into adulthood. I wrote stories from the age of six and dreamed someday of becoming two things, a mother and a writer. I succeeded as a mother, (I always was a bit of an overachiever). But now that most of my children are grown, I have turned my attention to my other aspiration, to write. I hold no degrees or awards for such things, it is simply my passion and how I spend my days.

Writing is the Easy Part

They say it takes so much time and energy to write a book…but now that I have accomplished it. I say, marketing your book is so much more difficult and time consuming.

Writing was easy, fun even…now comes the difficult part. Getting it out to the world. The world will not come to you looking for it. You have to put in front of the people who will become your readers and that takes an abundant amount of effort. It is easy to get lost in a world of your own making…but to spend ten to twelve hours a day preparing a launch…not so much.

Thankfully, there are a massive amount of resources showing you how to market your work and be successful. But it’s a learning process and requires lots…and lots of time.

However, marketing is rewarding in it’s own right, because you not only wrote a book, but you took all the steps independently to make it profitable and that, my friends, is a good feeling.
